I've shot several deer with the Wasp Jackhammer 100 and one of my buddies has put down over 15 deer with this head. Most of them went about 30 yards. They have a huge blood trail. Its a great head, but its has a really big 1 3/4" cut. You need a really really need a high KE. If its not ove 60, I wouldn't even think about it. My KE is 64 and his 67.

Wasp does now make a Jackhammer 100 1 1/4" cut also.

Good luck!

I use mechanicals and have had no problems. I have not wounded a deer yet and I always have a freezer full of venison. I think no matter which you shoot, mechanicals or fixed blade, if you wait for the perfect shot you will eat well.
