I'm thinking about doing something dumb - charging a tripod stand from Cabelas on my credit card!
Tell me I don't need it -- Tell me I won't like it -- Tell me I can't shoot a bow easily out of it
Please somebody remind me I spend way too much money hunting !!! Quick before its too late!!!

My wifes response:
Anybody make a thermo pillow?
I don’t which is more funny the responses or the fact that grown men really have the time during the day to sit and respond back.
P.S. Don’t buy it or (our dog)Jax’s kennel will be your new abode. Who knows maybe your tripod will look good out there with you sleeping in it. Think of all the practice you will get. LOL !!

The best way to do this is use your wifes credit card, and then with a surprised look on your face ask her "Just what the heck do you think your doing?"
It didn't work for me either but the package got here and I was out the door before the dust settled.

I wish I wouldn't have stopped myself --- instead of buying the tripod stand from Cabelas I decided to save a little money and build my own.
Not having access to a welder or metal supplies I decided to try PVC piping. I designed a very sturdy PVC pipe stand that will accomodate a 5x5 pop-up style ground blind on top. It "was" going to be made out of 6" PVC for the posts and 4" PVC for structural supports.
Then I saw how much 6" PVC Connectors were!!! OMG So I redesigned the stand at the store with 3" posts and 2" structural supports.
In the end it still cost me over $250 for parts and took me the weekend to cut to size and assemble. Then as soon as I tried to move it it crumbled - granted I had not started cleaning and glueing the joints yet - but still I have $250 in parts laying on the ground and my evening project will be to reassemble the 8'x6'x6' jigsaw puzzle and I'm still not sure if it will be structurally solid!!??
Here's what it will look like - kinda
If anybody has experience with joining PVC and knows if it will be strong enough please let me know either way??? Regardless, I'll post a pic when its complete!

As long as the wife doesn't know you spent the $$ on it, just work out a story with a buddy of yours claiming the stand as his, but "you just storing it for him".
It's worked on my wife for my game camera and a stand of mine. But then again, I do the bills at my house so it's easier to get away with.
