How do you if you have enough KE?
Is there a website out there where you can plug in some numbers pertaining to your bow and for 1 it gives you your KE and secondly maybe the same website or another that tells you what KE you need for specific mechanical broadheads to work properly? I know there's one for the 1st part(although I don't know what it is), but how about the second?
Thanks

Well, the formula for KE is as follows:
speed x speed x weight divided by 450,240.
If memory serves me correctly, about 50 pounds of energy is recommended to open most mechanical broadheads. Although I admit I am not the worlds leading authority on the subject, but I think that's right.

I was going to post the same website - it's the only one i know that you can plug in your information and get KE. (I am sure there are others)
I've never seen a website that has recommended KE for specific mechanicals. But I believe mobowhuntr is right on - somewhere in the 50-55 is needed for most mechanicals. Once you start getting to some of the bigger diameters like 1 3/4 - 2 inches - you'll need more.
