I smoke during the off season, and chew while on stand during the hunting season, my brother smokes all the time and I see and harvest more deer, and he will never learn,, I personally don't think it makes a huge difference, but like see lots of deer, so I will not smoke on stand.

Are you old enough to chew? Dont get caught on the bus, deep trouble. I got suspendid for it when I was younger. Or just learn to gut it like the real men do.

I asked this a little while back about snuff and didnt get hardly any responces. I was wonderin if some of the new flavors like wintergreen, mint, berry, and like the new skoal apple would act as an curiosity scent.

I would think for one, that natural flavors wouldnt bother deer one bit, and that using a SPITTER would help majorly, plus if your a minor quit while you can and dont get caught in school!!!

They will smell you a mile away. Anyone who stinks in their stand and sees "lots" of deer would see 10 times more if they controlled their scent.

I would assume that it makes a difference. I always have a dip when I hunt "in a tree stand down by the river." (opposed to "in a van down by the river." -Farley) This one spot I have is on the bank of a river which actually puts my stand over water so I can spit into the river undetected, and it works out great if I have to take a leak. I usually don't dip if I'm not hunting the river spot.

Well i would say it is always a bad idea. Fu#kin gross. Anyway i knew a guy that said that he was smoking and chewing on his stand and he still shot a deer. That was rifle but still. I, first of all dont smoke or chew but that is pretty bad if you cant hold off for a few days in a tree stand. As far as spittin in the river. How high are you. That still leaves a lot of scent. especially if it is windy.
