When is a bow kill considered dead?
#2
I shot a 7 pointer last year from about 10 yds. The arrow flew right through him hitting both lungs and the heart. He jumped and looked around and put his head back down on the ground sniffing the doe scent I put out. Then he started to tremble and tried to run off.
He fell dead within 15yds from where I stuck him.
I believe he was dead but didn't know it.

Well in my opion its when he`s down! and not not going to get up!
But the trouth is on any warm blooded animal it`s not only when the hart stops beating or when it stops beathing but when the brain stops getting oxigen or blood to the brain is when something is considered dead!
and an arrow through the hart or lungs will couse this to happen very quickly.

I would say not untill he quits moving. The brain can go for about 3 minutes after the heart quits beating. I've made some awsome shots on deer right through the heart and still have them run a long ways.

Clinical death is defined as the moment when the heart stops beating.

and an arrow will do just that and there won`t be any CPR for that critter!
