The Realtree boys vs. Primos vs. The Drury Boys

I Personally am a huge fan of Realtree Monster Bucks, I love the humor the fun they have and the big deer! Just wandering what everybody else's views are?

I like the seriousness of the Drury videos. Those vidoes can teach you a thing or two.

I don't care for jokes and pranks. When I was kid yeah, but not now.

Give me the Primos boys. If it wasn't for Michael Waddell I wouldn't even watch Bill Jordan and the Drury's argue to damn much for me. It would be like hunting with your in-laws.:D

I agree that those are the top 3 groups, and I'd like to hunt with any of them. Of the realtree guys though, I'm a fan of michael waddell and david blanton. I feel all those guys can be serious when needed, yet have fun while doing so.

If you guys haven't seen Primetime Bucks 8 by H.S., you need to check it out. Awesome video! Was a huge Monster Bucks fan but I can see Primetime Bucks repelacing them. Too many gun hunts in Monster Bucks XII. I've watched about 1/4 of Primetime Bucks 8 and ALL have been bow hunts so far. Does anyone know if all of the hunts on the video are bowhunts? I hope so!

I am a big fan of Michael Waddell. The Drury's are pretty good as well. I look forward to meeting both at the Keystone Country Store Festival at the end of the month.

I, too, like the realtree boys, expecially michael and david. For the entertainment, they are great. I guess michael reminds me of me sometimes, the way he gets all worked up and all. Besides, he shoots a Hoyt.:D For the educational value, I agree that the Drurys are hard to beat. I have not seen Primetime 8, in fact, the only one I have seen is 2 I think. But it, too, is great in learning potential.

for me 1.drury 2.realtree 3.roger raglin. i have learned alot off the drurys and realtree has a good video series with some big bucks and i actually like the humor cause theres nothing wrong with a good laugh and for roger raglin i love the way he gets so fired up when he kills a buck like its his first one and you know he knows what hes talking about just look at his wall.

Personally, I lost interest in the Real Tree Videos after seeing the same hunts year after year from the Milk River and the Encinetas (sp?) Ranch.

I prefer the Drury Boys at the moment.

RE: The Realtree boys vs. Primos vs. The Drury Boys

I'm going to order the Drury boys video when i order a stand from Eders. monster bucks, as far as rack size goes, has nothing on Primos The Truth. I just bought the Primos Truth 12 video, man were those bucks huge!! they did a few hunts in iowa, which is neat because thats right next to us in Wis. looked alot like the terrain we got on our land in iowa. they all got that southern drawl though, and if you listen real close, when they use there grunt calls, you can pick up the drawwl on the grunts ;) Michael Waddel and David Blanton are the only reason i watch MB. The Milk River or the Tecomate Ranch or the Perlitz get kinda boring. they need to hunt somewhere else.

I'm a realtree fan. Lovew the monster bucks series, and can't say enough about Michael Widdel and road trips. Michael is always the most fun to watch. He is prolly the one "pro" hunter I would like to hunt with or just have a beer with.

I bought the Monster Bucks 12 and thought it was great. Wish there was more archery hunts, but oh well. The foxwurthy and "T-Bown" comentary is great. Truthfully I like most all hunting shows, but realtree is my favorite. I'm not a big fan or buckmasters or Spirit of the wild. The nuge is a little out there for me.

the drury's revolutionized modern hunting shows??????? wow
i dont like the drury's. they just seem like dorks to me. on the couple of videos i have seen of their's, the best hunts were the other hunters not named drury. i watched a couple of their elk videos, and actually pitied abe meline (their guide), who seemed like he had such an uphill battle to get that mark guy even close to an elk. just seemed like a total idiot to me thats all.
realtree is okay if its wadell..... bill jordan needs to lose the make-up
for my money the primos team is far and away the best. nothing else even comes close
just my opinions

You see one 'modern bowhunting' video, you've seen 'em all. They're ALL so painfully boring, I avoid watching them at every opportunity.[:'(]

The Primetime Bucks 8 is the worst one from H.S. so far. They have let most of the guys go from thier pervious videos like Greg Miller and other expert bowhunters. Don't take it wrong, I still think they put out the top 1 or 2 hunting video every year, but this one just didn't have the big names from past years.

Primos guys started this all out back in the days making the best videos on the market and they are still doing it today. The Drury's aren't bad either. Michael is a fun to watch.

Gutshot, I think your correct , If it wasen't for Micheal Waddell , RealTree wouldn't be as interesting. Primos is my favorite show hands down, Drury's are good but too much arguing with each other. We forgot one, what about A-Way outdoors, Fred Abbas SR. is unbelievable when it comes to deer, the knowledge he possesses is uncanny.

Waddell makes the show, I dont really care for the rest of the real tree folks. Regardless of what brand he wears on his back I will watch him.. He is a dang good hunter and I will watch him hunt every chance I get...

The Drury's are good too. I dont know if its just me or what but their shows seem to be just one big long commercial. And about the same for Primos.

RE: The Realtree boys vs. Primos vs. The Drury Boys

Ok, after getting the bug early this year, i've spent a lot of time watching videos. The last one I watched was primetime bucks 8. Those guys are a bunch of goof balls. One of the first hunts I swear that deer's belly was all bloated. It looked like there was a beach ball in his belly. They said it was 'early' october and they left the woods for 9 hours after the hunt. Looked more like 2 days though.

In another hunt they mysteriously don't show the shot when a deer is just standing still and broadside. The first thing you see is the deer running after the shot. I paused and went frame by frame. The shot was behind the rib cage! The arrow is practically sticking out of his leg (with really bad penetration). Broadside, not quartering away either. He did recover the deer but that is the worst shot i've ever seen on a video. Then later on in disk one (i haven't even gotten to disk 2) they show another bad shot. The hunter says he had to shoot when he did because the camera wouldn't have been able to see it had the deer taken one more step. So he takes a terrible shot???? Ugh! My non hunting buddy was watching and just laughing 'are you sure these guys are professionals?

They had so many goof ups on that video (i've only seen disk 1 so far) it was kind of funny. They show one guy ratteling, a buck comes RIGHT in and the guy was too busy talking to the camera to notice. He ends up getting a shot and shooting in front of the deer. it was funny.

I like the primos videos and drury (but I haven't found them on dvd yet). I can't stand realtree and their skits. Thank god for dvd, i just go to the next chapter when t-bone is on.

RE: The Realtree boys vs. Primos vs. The Drury Boys

I haven't bought any hunting videos for at least the last 5 years--probably much longer. However, when I saw the truth 9 and 10 together on sale at Dick's for under $10, I gave in. I like the bowhunting, but do NOT like the way they laugh and laugh after killing a deer. We all enjoy our success and can get overcome occassionally, but it just seemed disrespectful to me and I felt embarassed for the first time watching the videos with my wife. I didn't like the way they portrayed bowhunters. On the other hand, I really like the Drury brothers video's. They get overjoyed just like we all do, but without the disrespect I felt in the Primo's productions.

I like the Drury boys the best. Waddell is cool and I agree with others that he makes the Realtree videos and Primos has some good hunts, but they are so silly that it makes it hard for me to watch, so most of the time I don't.

The Primetime videos seem to have gotten worse, and has anyone heard Alex Rutledge make a noise that, I guess is suppose to be deer grunts? Some of the silliest sounds I've heard.

RE: The Realtree boys vs. Primos vs. The Drury Boys

I have met most of these guys and while all good people, I think the Drury Bros are a step above at least with respect to their video productions.
The Realtree guys mostly (if not entirely?) use outfitters to show them where to go exactly.
The Drury Bros hunt on their own.....private and public ground and do most of their own leg work.

All that said, there are many many good bowhunters who could do exactly what these guys do if given the good fortune of money, time and prime hunting land.
The stars really have to line up to make a living from hunting.

The Drury videos are my favorites for getting me fired up for hunting season. But for humor, I'll take the RealTree clips with Foxworthy and TBone. You reckon Ben Gordon got any of them fish sticks in his truck?

As stated earlier, the Muzy's Bad to the Bone video is remarkable. I recommend anyone who likes bow hunting to jump aboard this video. I like videos that you can actually learn from and this is right there with the best.
