RE: How high do yaw climb ?
Where I hunt you have to be 30+. If you are lower it's very hard to get the shot off. Too many eye balls around.

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
Depending on the cover i like to try and get at least 20' if possible.
|
RE: How high do yaw climb ?
Depends on what the environment dictates. Normally between 15 and 25 feet. More in the shorter range in most of the spots I hunt with one or two up around 25 feet.

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
i climb where the cover is, if there is good cover only 15ft then thats where ill roost.

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
Around 25ft;)

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
15-20 feet is fine. The target area gets much smaller the higher you go.

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
I used to need oxygen tanks at the heights I hunted! :D
Now, I look for trees that feature plenty of cover at my normal hunting height--about 18-20 feet. |
RE: How high do yaw climb ?
about 16 feet

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
It depends on the area I am hunting. I like to get about 15 - 20 feet but I have been around 35 feet. When you get that high it tests your wits. Throw some wind in there and you are moving like a mother. I have been scared numerous times and have fallen out once from 20. It was early and I screamed on the way down. I checked my self out and got right back up. I screamed so loud deer from ten miles knew where I was and I didnt see anything. My buddies love the long version to this story but this is a politaclly correct site. RD

RE: How high do yaw climb ?
23 feet seems to be my favorite height ( I judge with knots in my pull rope).
Davidmil, I know you were joking but just to be sure... The area of Texas I mainly hunt is tall pine trees and logging roads. Nothing like the Texas you see on TV. And the deer are smaller and scared[:'(]. |
