c903,

Lighten up.

I love to read the threads about Martins advertising.
Seems people love it, or just can't stand it.
J in GB, c903 is entitled to his own opinion. Who are you to tell him to lighten up? I personally do not think seductive advertising has a place in bowhunting. I'm trying to raise my kids right and they don't need to see that junk when flipping through "dad's hunting magazines." And before you say it, yes, some of them (not all) are seductive. If you feel the need to get off, go grab a Playboy. If their bows are as good as they say they are, they shouldn't need to stoop to this level to sell their product. JMHO.
Sorry, but in MY opinion, you guys need to lighten up. JMHO.

Honestly, I don't understand how your kids would get any "wrong" ideas with an add like this. You see worse than this on TV all the time, and unless your kids watch nothing but barney and the Teletubbies, they've seen worse.

I agree, some of you need to lighten up.

If their bows are as good as they say they are, they shouldn't need to stoop to this level to sell their product.
I'd rather see a beautiful woman holding a bow than two companies bashing each other in their adds. (IE Mathews/Hoyt) I trust that you're against the use of any attractive woman in any kind of advertising. What's the difference between Martin using women in their adds as opposed to a car manufacturer using one in theirs? Do you make your children leave the room when a "seductive" looking woman appears on the television screen promoting the new Dodge Hemi trucks? I'm sorry if you take offence to what I'm saying, but it seems awfully wrong of you to say these things about this company without believing the same about any other company using the same techniques.

I find nothing wrong with what Martin is doing in their adds and I fully support their decision to keep doing so. I look forward to all future adds from Martin.

Just thought I'd post the other Martin adds from my archery magazines I had lying around. Only one of them do I consider even slightly "seductive" as it was put, and this is only because she's wearing short shorts and a belly shirt. Nothing you don't see at the local Super Market... I know there are a few more out there, but these were just the ones on the backsides of the magazines.

(Slightly seductive one)

What's not to like?

Some people really need to get a life.

Protect the young ones. Shut down the TV. Put blinders on them in public. And then tell them to vote for Bill Clinton. What a bunch of hypocrites we have in the world.

I don't know why this is even an issue with anyone ,I guess you can use the kid's as an excuse but I don't see anything wrong with these add's at all . The kid's are going see these thing's it's part of life You can't even read a new's paper without seeing these type of add's .THIS is part of life where have you been.

All I have to say is if that fat ugly woman is suppose to get me to buy a Martin bow than they have not seen my wife yet, maybe they should hire her instead.

I was not referring to the good looking and sexy women in the ads in my reply. I personally see nothing wrong with the Martin ads or any other similar ads for similar purposes. I was directing my comments to the subject matter in which "Mathewsboy" insinuated some readers of the advertisements might use the ad photos for. A stupid and debasing thread.
