Default Stupid new string...AGHHHH!

I got a new string on my bow. I sighted it in at 10yds, then 20yds, then 30 yds. Ok so it seemed to be going good. I take it back out today and it's all to heck! 4" high and 3" to the left. I adjust and now it's dead on. An hour later I go back at it. 2" low and 2" to the left.

I'm not the best archer in the world, but at 10yds come on!
Any suggestions?

I can't see the new string itself causing this much fluctuation in shot placement. All that I can gather is that when they put your knock point back on the new string it may not have been centered. I would take it to your proshop and have them recenter it to be certain that you arrows are leaving the string correctly. Other then that I can't be of much help. Good luck.

My bow pro is out of town until Friday. I plan on having him take a look at it. I did have some string leeches put on. Wonder if they have anything to do with it?

Nope. New kisser button and the string on my nose each time. Had the wife watch me to make sure it looked the same to her each time I shot.

It's probably something stupid and simple I'm not paying attention to.

Do you use a peep sight? I would think even a slight variation in anchor point could cause accuracy problems as you described, even though the anchor feels the same.

Is everything tight, especially the rest?

I had something similar happen to me and I kept looking at everything but nothing seemed out of place. Finally I started checking screws and the rest was ever so slightly loose and was moving such a small ammount I didn't notice it.

Another thought. Do you use a Trophy Ridge sight? If so I would look real hard at the sight moving.

Ok bigbulls. I feel like a smacked @$$ now. The rest is loose.

I'll try it after I tighten it and see what happens.

That happened to a friend of mine one day at a 3-d shoot !! He would be on....then off bad......on.....off ! Finally one of my other friend's (that had sold the guy the bow) noticed a screw was missing on his rest and it was moving left and right !! Talk about frustrating !
