RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
Never had the opportunity to shoot a fawn, don't know if I would when I get a chance.

RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
Had it once last year. Opening day a dguy I work with took a fairly young doe. It actually still had a couple spots on it's rear. He shot it not realizing how young it actually was. Best tasting venison I ever had. Didn't get much meat off it though!

RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
The big ones go to friends, the little ones go to MY freezer. I've actually had friends try to take the smaller ones when I've got a few in the back of the truck. No way, I say!;)

RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
One night on our way back from State College we were like the "Meat Wagon"......we picked up 2 road kills that happened right in front of us. One a nice buck and the other a fawn with still faint spots.......oh what a guilty pleasure that young one was.[:-]:D I could have eaten the whole thing myself. Did I?;)

RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
i think the best deer to eat is a nice healthy 90 pound 6 month old female deer, let those button bucks go if you can.

RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
PL,
You got some big deer in KY huh? [:-] We're lucky here in PA if a 6mo. doe weighs in at 45lbs. In fact a 90-100lb doe is a mature animal here. |
RE: Who has Eaten Fawn?
All i can say is the fawns here(under 1 year)is the best eating, you can actually cut it with a fork---YUMMY:)
