Hot and humid is often what greets the first few weeks of each bow season in MD. It's miserable to sit in a stand covered head to toe in camo, with mosquitos buzzing around your head. Scent control is made next to impossible while sweating like crazy--yet I refuse to miss hunting on my days off in the early season because you can ocassionally still catch one on a summer feeding pattern, still in velvet, etc., etc. . . . . plus it's been MONTHS that you've been waiting for it to start!
What are some things y'all do to help keep cool during these hot times?

Carry lots of water. Walk in in shorts. If it's a scorcher... just pull a mesh leafy wear suit over the shorts, T shirt and your sneakers.(I have camo ones from cabelas. Drink lots of water. Get a little higher to diminish the bug count and pick up any stirring breezes. AMs are cooler.

When I was young and had a body like a Greek god, I wore nothing but shorts, canvas tennies and a good tan when I was hunting. Now that I'm older, have the body of a rusted out '54 Pontiac and no hair, I've added a hat and T-shirt to my early season wardrobe.
