Default Iowa Bowhunting?

Thinking about coming up from Georgia for 2005 bow season.Do I have to get drawed for a non-resident tag,if so what are my chances? And what counties produce the most Pope and Youngs?

Yep. The application period for non residents begins in May. The results come out on June 26th. (Counting the days!) It's not cheap either. I think it was $311 this year. If you are not selected, they send your $ back minus an application fee of $10 I think.

In the county I hunt, I have an approximatly 30% chance of getting picked. If you don't get selected, the following year they give you a preference point which will give you a better chance of being selected the following year. It is a bunch of BS!!!!!!!!! I have an uncle with 5,000 acres, yet I can only hunt there every 3-4 years. Definately worth it though!
