Like others have said without a doubt the key to getting the limbsavers to stay on a solid limb is cleaning before putting them on. The acetone will work great but make sure you rub lightly because it will remove the finish if you rub hard. I have also used denatured alcohol with good results. I had a friend who couldn't keep one on so he cleaned the spot good and used superglue and it's been there every since.

Rubbing alcohol has petruleum in it - that's why people haven't had the best of luck w/ cleaning the limbs with this.
Mykey mentioned the best type of alcohol - denatured. It should say on the bottle something like 91%.

I use isopropal (sp) alchohol , same as I use for cleaning arrows before I fletch, never had on come of yet, I don't think I could get them of without damaging the finish.

Yes, super glue will hold it well but when the rubber rots and cracks you have to buy a new one and the damaged one is still stuck hard on your limb. You would definately screw the paint up trying to get that off.Just MO.

im quite inventive
