You Texas guys who are applying for the draw hunt on Hagerman WMA...
Denton County Archers is holding an informal open 3D shoot on Sunday, June 27. As part of the shoot, we will have 14 targets set up according to Hagerman guidelines (deer or bigger, 30 yards max) so that you can get your proficiency test scores done.
Remember, you must shoot a minimum 80% of the total possible score for those 14 targets in order to qualify to hunt on Hagerman. Scoring is 10-8-5, so you must average 8's on every target.
Get practiced up and come out and shoot. Even if you don't intend to hunt Hagerman, come out and shoot anyway. Get in a little no-pressure shooting, have some fun and, best of all, you get to find out if I'm really as big a horse's butt as you think I am. [8D]
Fee for the shoot is $10. At least 30 targets, maybe more if the setup crew gets carried away. Registration starts at 8, California start around 9. We're out east of Denton, south of Hwy 380, directly north of Lake Lewisville. To get to the range from Loop 288 in Denton, take 380 east. Several miles out, you'll go across the Trinity River/lake bridge. As you're coming up out of the bottoms, there's a Shell station on the right. That's the corner of 380 and Mosely. Take Mosely south. It will take a left and become Tipps Rd. The range is 2/10ths of a mile up on the left. We'll have signs out to help guide you in.
I hope to meet some of you guys... Mike? Aussie?

Too bad about work... Man, you need to straighten out your priorities! [8D]
I'm back compounding again for the forseeable future. The target panic I had with my stickbows... that nasty short draw/snap shooting crap I thought I had sort of under control[:-][X(][>:] ... came back on me with a vengence last week. So, I'm back with the training wheels and the remedial archery program, trying to get my mental game back in gear.
