Default my intro

I've posted a handfull of times on the board and am now excited to really keep up with the happenings of the bowhunting world. My name is Jay and I live in Charlotte, NC where I'm a firefighter. I am originally from Ohio where I spend most of the fall hunting. I also hunt Missouri every year for a week and a half or so. I shoot a PSE Carrera with ACC arrows and spitfire broadheads. I'll throw a pic up of my only wall hanger but I've made a commitment to myself not to harvest anything smaller than what I've already taken. Although I have seen many bigger bucks since this one, getting one just hasn't been in the cards. I hope to get to know some of you so good huntin' and be safe. - Jay

Jay Welcome, it very nice to meet you. Nice buck, someday when I am not busy pursuing elk I will take the time and try to harvest a buck like yours. I tip my hat to you for being a firefighter. If you look up the word "education" in the dictionary it says the exchange of ideas. Well this board definitly has a exchange of ideas. There are people young and old, with a little, and for some, a lot of experience to learn from. Again welcome to the board, and it will be great to hear your ideas. Thanks

Hi Jay, nice looking deer.
I might consider shooting other deer, even if they are smaller than the one on your wall for the sake of QDM. Shooting ones with poor genetics; controlling the buck to doe ratio, shooting smaller does, because they may taste better/be more tender, etc...
But in any case...nice deer

Welcome Jay. I too do much that same as extreme1. I have even gotten in some hot water with the wife about this site. But it is a great way to keep up on the sport when you can't be in the woods.
