The physical, spiritual or philosophical reasons of why we hunt are endless. There are as many reasons as their are people to ask.

To me, what it all boils down to is survival. An instinct that our CREATOR has placed into each of us. Our need to survive is why we come together into groups. It's why we have a strong sex drive and it's why we've developed weapons and don't hesitate to use them to protect and feed ourselves and our people. It's why we hunt, gather, fish and till the soil. None of us can escape it and I think that for the most part, the majority of the people understand and live true to our CREATORS design.

However, there are those who just can't deal with the realities of existence. They can't or refuse to understand that everything on this planet that lives is a part of the food chain including us. They can't fathom or refuse to admit that living beings must kill and then consume the flesh of other living beings to exist. It is how it has been since the beginning of time and it is how it will always be.

When the chips are down and food is scarse because of famin, draught and war, who will they turn to so that they can survive? If you asked them that question now, they'd tell you that the government will provide and indeed they may to a small extent, but for the most part, the ones that will keep food on the table and the people alive are the ones they have always turned to. The ones who have the skills. Us!

Wahya, well said.

Why do I hunt? Because my instinctive need to be as close to creation as possible rages within me. For me the greatest drug we can take is a constant dose of nature. Hunting is a part of that natural cycle and all that comprises the hunt stimulates like no other.
