They change the season this year I plan on hunting watering sources and mineral licks.

Any suggestions.

yep. dress cool. still pretty hot ya know. What do you think of the horn regulations? I just wish they would have done it for the whole state. Also, have you heard of any limits yet? Can we still get unlimited doe tags?

I agree with mobohunter. I wish they would have made the point reg. for the whole state. I am happy abot the earlier start for bowhunting. Not so long to wait.

Years ago I would get all excited when opening day came around. September 15 and 20th where I hunt. I don't anymore because I won't hunt until the last week of October at the earliest.

I wait until the first big frost to kill off some the ticks. Next time you kill an early season deer check out the tick population. It's preey nasty. The other reason to wait is that the big bucks don't like showing themselfs during the day time until they get pootang on their mind. Just hunt where the Does are and be patient.

If you do want to hunt during these early months, hunt paths on the way to bedding in the morning and water sources in the evening. They want cool thickets during the daytime heat and a drink of water when the wake up.
