Trail Cameras
#1
I posted this on the deer hunting forum and thought I'd put it up here too.....I am looking to buy one or more trail cameras and was wondering which ones you guys would recommend. I dont want to spend a ton of money on them but would at least like fairly nice ones.

cam trakker is what I'd recommend. I have used others but the cam trakker is the best in quality and function, IMO worth the extra. BTW cam trakker is bring out a new entry level, not sure of specs yet but it is listed at 229.00 on their website as coming soon. www.camtrakker.com
It might be worth emailing them to get details on it!
Have you considered builting them? checkout www.jesseshuntingpage.com pretty good information/resource with regards to game camera's.

I have the cuddeback and I have been happy with it so far if you are after digital. I just got it last sept. It is $399 at cabelas or bass pro. Another option like skeeter mentioned is building your own. I am hoping to build one in the next month or so. It does look like it will be cheaper and everyone who has done that on this board really seem to like them. Good luck with whatever you get.

I have a stealth cam and it is great for only $70. Takes great pictures but doesn't have all the bells and whistels that some of the others do. But you can't beat it for the price. If you wanting digital they have a digital version that is one of the cheapest on the market. I'm not sure on how good it is yet. I'm planning on building some of my own cameras whenever I get around to it. They have longer battery life and can be cheaper to make than buying a commercial one.

I plan on getting a trail camera as well this year...this will be the first time I've ever used one. I'll also check out the website regarding building your own. There are three really nice bucks in my area and it would be great to get at least one of them on film.

I was not expecting much when I bought my stealth cam last summer and was then pleasantly surprised to find that it worked pretty darn well and took some nice photos. It is on the low end in terms of price but at least average in terms of performance and features.
