Default Summit Cobra X4

Has anyone had a chance to try out this new stand? I'm curious to know if that front rail bar can be positioned so that it acts like the front rail on the Viper XLS? In the down position does it swing freely or can it be locked?

I own a Viper, and I really liked the security of the front bar. The ability to have one that swings totally out of the way is really attractive.

The Cobra has a open-front design and does not have the wrap around bar--as far as I can see from what is shown in their o4 catalog.

The one in the cabels /bass pro catalog has a bar that rotates back behind(over?) your head when hunting. In the down position it acts as a sit climber.

I'm tossing up one of these or some new binocs for fathers day.
Decisions, decisions.

It's too bad that thing doesn't form a Viper like rail in front, AND swings out of the way. I could shoot in all directions and take a nap

I believe it can be used either way. Give them a call, they are most helpful and very friendly.
