My First Bow Kill!!!!

congrats squirrel. i shot my first bow kill last year. it also was a chipmunk. i shot a mouse once too. long story. i recently got a recurve bow and i have been practicing up and last saturday i shot another chipmunk. i think its great u got ur first bowkill. congrats again!
some of you guys seem to be saying that shooting the animal isnt fun. to me all hunting is fun. it keeps me off drugs and alcohol. i do believe the chase is the best part and doing it safely is very important.

Congratulations SH91, that is an impressive shot. I also enjoyed your strory, it was told with total honesty. A quality that is being lost in our age of political correctness. You have nothing to be ashamed of for what you did, nor should you have to tell the story that way. This is a hunting message board, tell it like it happened and be proud of it. I didn't feel your replies were that out of line, most were as mature and intelligent as the so called adults flaming you. Hang in there, IMO the future of our sport is in good hands with kids like you.

this has to be the most ridiculous thing ive read on here in a long time,,, the only thing i have a problem with is sh91 cussing out another mod, a blatant violation of the rules once again being broken by him, but i would almost bet that everyone here has killed a small animal at least once in his or her life that noone knows about or cares about, back off off him he has a dad who has the job of putting him in his place on this and any other matter, seems if his dad is going to help skin it then he doesnt have a problem with sh91's actions,, nuff said oh BTW MATT I AGREE WITH YOUR POSTS,,,,

i opened my window real quietly and slowly, then got the screen open, put my release on, nocked an arrow, put my 15 yard pin on the middle of the chipmunks back, then i let that arrow fly.

Whats so ridiculous about seasoned MATURE hunters advising a young man that he shouldnt use live animals as target practice?????
Maybe his daddy should be a little more concearned how his 12 yr old son spends his time on the net in a adult forum cussing out other members.

Me and my son were fishing today. A cottonmouth came swimming along the bank. I let it get out a ways and shot it with my .17. It flipped it completely out of the water, did a twist, and landed back in the water.
We laughed our ass's off.

and ricoace, just to let ya know, when you are my father, you control what i shoot and what i do. i am using the animals to tune my bow sights. plus at the same time i am keeping my varmint population in check.
behind my house there is almost 200 acres of just hardwoods. there is deer, coyotes, bear, squirrel, chipmunk, racoon, everything you could possibly think of is probably back there.
