Here's a Bobcat I snared in N.J.,while catching coyotes for a telemetry study

A tooth core sample proved the cat was 11 1/2 years old and it wieghed 43lbs.

gobblergeter, I didn't even know that bobcats lived that long. Pretty amazing... That cat was a hog!

Jimbo, They normally don't live that long , but they are protected in Jersey and he was living a charmed life. There was very little disturbance at the catch site , indicating that he dead rather quickly.... an autopsy showed that he died of a HEART ATTACK!!!!! He was an 'ol timer

Either way gobblergeter, that cat lived a better life than most house dogs! [8D] They're protected here in Maryland too, so maybe we have a bunch of "Golden" girls/guys here too! Do you think we could train them to hunt and kill the elusive snakehead fish???

They're quite a sight to see. Thanks for sharing the pic.
