RE: first bowkill how far did you have to track your kill
First bow kill was a 20 yard shot, nicked the heart, ran 50 yards and dropped in sight. Biggest buck I have ever seen. Also shot it wearing blaze orange on second weekend of gun season with my bow. The buck was checking the scrape line, nose was to the ground the ground, never looked up ounce. I will show a picture in the future and the story. I do not have a scanner or the equipment.

My 1st biggame kill was a yearling Doe 48 years ago with a 45# recurve Eddings bow, wood 4 fletch arrow tipped with a MA3 Blade I made myself.
35 yard shot, complete penetration, both lungs-went 30 yards-no tracking involved.
Since then I have been blessed with many Bowhunting trips & more Whitetail than I can count, Mule deer, Elk, Caribou, Black Bears, wild hogs, Exotics & many small game animals also.
I took a Buffalo this past March & the start of my 48th Bowhunting season. Good luck to all.

my first and only bow kill was with my high country at 17 yards, it was a 120 lb. sow, she was facing away from me , i shot through the ham out the lung, she ran about 60 yards....didnt know at the time it was a risky shot, thought that was why i practiced from all angles, wont be taking a risky shot ever again, i thank God we found her, she took the arrow with her, i saw no blood, then a drop and another and another, then a pile of it, then more spots then an arrow, it was sticking out of her
lost a huge hog later, took the shot , about 22 yards, it jumped, legged it, but blood was everywhere, tracked it for about 400 yards and lost it in the cypress head, should of been a double lunger....i'm sure he died, i just could never find him, really sucked....
