Favorite Placenames?
I'm blessed with the opportunity to cover lots of ground here in MT, and one of the joys of scouting and hunting is all the strange and wonderful placenames. I live in the Bitterroot Valley, and that name was the first one I fell in love with.
I'll list just a couple of my favorites, I've actually driven hundreds of miles to scout new areas for hunting based on a strange or picturesque creek or river name. Here's a very short list:
Bullwhacker Creek (in the Missouri Breaks in central MT)
Bloody Dick Creek (Big Hole Valley, MT; actually there's local jokes about the girls in the Big Hole).
Please list your favorite names for rivers, creeks, mountains or whatever in areas you hunt.

Hell, Mt., I always thought that would be a scarey place to hunt, even more scareier camping there by yourself. It kinda makes you wonder what goes on at nighttime there, but I don't know if I want to find out. Thats the general area that Lewis/Clarke heard those explosions at night regularly. Bobby

Hurricane Hollow. It's what we call one particular area of our farm because if the wind is blowing, and it usually is, it's gale force winds. The deer don't seem to mind the winds at all but it makes for some interesting shots with a bow when the wind picks up.
