Default Face it or tree between?

When bowhunting out of a tree stand do you face the area you are excpecting the
deer to come from or do you put the tree between yourself and the area your watching?
Myself I face the area, if the tree is kind of bare I will use a bungee cord and put
branches around me, I also put some branches on the bottom of my stand with plastic
lock ties.

Face but try and keep some out front cover. If there isnt any cover on the tree, then i might go to the side, but i never face away.

I always face it.... as long as you have ample cover, or you are high enough, you will be just fine.

I try to have them come from the side don't really have a reason but i like it that way. I agree with those before me you have to have some cover around you. Pine trees are great for this.

Perfect world?

Find a tree where you can face the direction of travel....... wind in your favor, forward and back cover, anticipated travel/trail passes the stand about 15yrds off your left shoulder (for right handed shooter). If you can play the sun? even better.

At least that's what I shoot for when I look for stand locations and adjust from there........I try my best to get no closer than about 10 yards from main trails.

Quartering to my left side for my right hand shot...less shifting on the stand when I take the shot

I face the expected arrival, but both deer I killed last year were behind my tree.

I would face the area i would expect the game to come from.If possible i would sit at least 20 feet up.If the tree has no cover then i would make sure there was enough cover behind me.But the higher up the better

I set myself up for a left hand shot while facing the expected approach and use these when needed.
