I've hunted pheasants a few times with my recurve.I never dropped one but got close a couple of times and had alotta fun trying.
StealthyOne.I use flu-flu arrows when shooting at birds or aerial targets. They're fletched with full-length feathers and drop very quick after the shot-usually within 40yds.Haven't lost one yet.

I always keep one arrow in my quiver for a grouse, when i'm hunting (camp meat) and very delicious I might add.

If I am here next semester, I will be hunting grouse with the bow. The really like to hold tight here in UT for some reason. Will make really easy bow hunting.

I have found that that is the best way to clean em. I do it in the field, and then take care of the wings when I get home. If I want the leg meat (usually do), I just skin the legs. I end up deboneing the entire bird enyways.
