String Snapped
#1
I shoot in an archery league and the first day that I am going to shoot this new league season is tomorrow. I have been shooting my bow and I just got it dialed in yesterday and I put it up. This evening when i opened it up to make sure that I had everything I needed, i saw it. The string had snapped!
I don't know what to do! I may have to pass on this league.
That is horrible because I love it.

Well, I think the first thing I would do is say a BIG thank you to the 'man' upstairs that it didn't happen while you were drawing it!!! I know it sucks, especially so close to the start of the league. I had it happen to my bow a few years back. I put it away and it was fine and went to get it out to shoot it and the string had snapped while it was just sitting there. Luclily I took it to a good proshop nearby and had new string and cables put on and I didn't have to readjust anything. Got lucky I guess

I agree with bowhuntr especially the part about it not snapping while you were drawing. Hope everything works out for you and you are still able shoot in the league. Good luck and keep is posted

Well, I just found out that I may be able to get it fixed before the league! I don't know if I can get it shooting good by the time to shoot. I hope so and I do thank the lord that it didn't blow up on me when I was shooting it. I still can't figure out how it snapped though. The string was in good condition and there was nothing in my case that is abrasive. It is a soft case. I hope I can get it going, but I doubt it. I will keep you posted on the results.

It reallys shouldnt take you that long to dial it in?... Your rest didn't move and your limbs should be the same as well.. Throw a new nock set on it... shoot it threw paper a few times and done!!!... Once during a league my serving broke. I was at about arrow #48 or so and hadn't missed a 5 yet. I told the guys I would fix it and finish the next day... they said.. NOPE NFAA rules...So I had 30 mins to fix and only 10 practice arrows...I finished with 300 53X That night. Usually a good idea to have everything written down.. all yourr measurements that is.. distnace from peep to knock, kisser ect....
