Um well that is a ok buck at best. I think that he should have been allowed to grow up first. I surpised that he doesnt still have spots. lol

that is one NICE buck ,but i do have one question ,maybe a taxidermist can answer this, how if it was only shot like a month or two ago is it done so fast??i thought it took a long time to cure the hide??

Hey for the kid its just liking winning the lottery! He got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time. I bet some of you play the lottery who say here goes another profit by a hunter. Hunting is the same way!!!!

The mount thoretically could have been done is just a couple of days after the kill. The skull could have been cleaned and dry in a very short time. Beetles and borax do wonderfull things.
Hides can be tanned in less than a week. Perhaps the taxidermist used a cape he had on hand. It happens all the time. My brother sold several Illinois capes to a guy in PA who used them when a guy brought in a buck that was shot up or had it's throat or jaw cut.
Putting the mount together takes just a day or two after everything is on hand and ready.
