is using a crossbow cheating? thats what i have always used and there is a few people that said it isn't the same as a bow just woundering?

My answer to this is simple. If it is legal to use where you hunt and you want to use an x bow more power to you.

Here in ohio it is legal to use them, i choose to use a compound rather than an x bow for many reasons I am not going to get into. Now my thoughts on them in comparison to a compound. They are defenitly easier to use and harvest a deer with than a compound. Especially when you start talking about having 4x scopes on them, they are already drawn back and you don't need to stand when you shoot them. You only need very minimal movement to use them. So yes they are no doubt easier to use.

I know quite a few people who use them. They are mostly the kind of guys who wait untill the day before archery to even shoot them and then blame their broadheads on why they didn't recover the deer they shot. I am not talking about x bowers as a whole but the ones i know.

Cheating? Depends on how YOU see it. I use a compound bow and the trads. may say that is like cheating. Here in NC only disabled persons are allowed to hunt with a crossbow. That should tell you something.:)

I have both a compound and a crossbow. Though I mainly use my compound, I sometimes use my crossbow for groundhunting. As previously stated, crossbows require less movement and work better in some (albeit fewer) situations. I will never get rid of my crossbow and will replace it when necessary.

Never used one and probably never will, but if it's legal in your state and brings you great joy and happiness then by all means go for it. However it is easier to harvest a deer with a xbow than it is with a compound. Just my meek and humble opinion.

I don't believe it cheating. Especially if it brings more numbers of hunters into the circle.:D Our (hunters) numbers are dwindling and we need all the help we can get.

Fighting among ourselves is only benefitting the Anti-hunting crowd. The hunters and antis only make up a small portion of the population. The fence sitters make up the bulk of it. Lets try to get them on our side.

Well if it`s legal in your state then by all means use it.
