Got my 2003 deer mount back
#26
Nice looking mount, and that is a quick return time. I do taxidermy on the side myself. What takes some taxidermists so long is they send out their hides to a tannery. So they have to wait for the tannery to tan & reship them back. The other time consuming process is allowing the mount to properly dry, and to make sure everything is set, and in place. You don't want any movement once its recieved by the customer. Some taxidermists have specially designed drying rooms that speed up the process. It also matters on how thick the hide of the deer is. Northern deer have thicker hides to tolerate the colder climates. While southern deer are thinner. The time it takes to do the actual mounting is normally only a few hrs. But there's uncountable hrs spent otherwise, just grooming, and checking the mount daily to insure everything sets perfectly. Of course the better shape the cape was when delivered to the taxidermists the better, and helps alot in a good looking mount. Just a little heads up on Taxidermy!

Nice mount buckeye! Everytime you look at that big fella you"ll recall those special seconds that allowed for that fine keeper.
