Code Blue?
It' s late November, early December. I' ve been using Code Blue estrous lately, and the bucks in this area have shown absolutely no interest in it. Is there a better product that I should be trying? Should I not use it multiple times? I don' t know if the rut just hasn' t kicked in here or what. People in adjacent counties say the rut is on there. I called my first bow buck in with a can, so I thought sexual attractants should start working. That was 2 weeks ago, but I' ve gotten no response by other bucks to the can or scents since. I' ve had multiple bucks downwind of my scent bombs and ignore them completely. They were just feeding along, not sniffing the ground for does or running any. My bro-in-law got a bucks ears perking up with a rattling sequence, so maybe this area is just in the pre-rut. What do you guys think?

RE: Code Blue?
I feel like a fool but I tried Code Blue this year and the same thing. A buck walked past it and was 40 yards downwind of it and ignored it. For this reason, I will never buy commercial scents again! I heard once that urine has a shelf life of about 2 weeks max and if all this stuff hits the shelf at Walmart in September then it has oxidized and is worthless by the time the rut gets here. I could be wrong on this, but I will never waste my money on commercial scents again!

I' ve never used code blue but have heard good things about it. I dont go out around the rut without my trusty tinks69. It doesn' t always work but when it does it really does. Non of these scents work all the time but if you catch a deer in the right mood you will be glad you brought it along.

Tinks 69 has not let me down. It often sells out in the stores by me..wonder why.
This year I tried one of the synthetic scents with no real great stories but a friend kept pouring a little in a scrape near his stand after smoothing out the fresh tracks. Each time he returned there was always more tracks in the scrape

i have had a little success with pete rickards gel scent. had spike visit and lick branch i placed it on 2 days in a row. I have tried tinks 69, mate tricks, and many more with no success. I believe I posted earlier on this subject my wife tells me that I am just peeing money away. he he. I don' t buy much any more because of the limited success. I always thought it was just do the the amount of deer in the area I hunt.

I think someone hit on this already about scents being old by the time they are on the shelf. have you ever smelled em. Well I did a smell comparison the other day between most major manufactures and to me they all smelled like strong ammonia and not pee. I know urine has ammonia in it but to me I might as well get mr clean out.
