I' d cut a board the exact size of the inside spread of the rack and tape it in. My first big buck I shot years ago shrunk 1 3/4" on the inside spread over the first year. Most of my buddies have had theirs shrink also. My taxidermist told me to put this board in and keep it there for a year.

Good Luck!

I cut up old aluminum arrows and use them as spreaders to hold the points to the original width while drying. Depending on the mass of the rack they can and most definitely do shrink. The Hole-in-the-Horn buck for example is believed to have shrunk over 3.5" from when found and first measured.

I could be wrong, but I thought that putting boards on your antlers to minimize shrinkage was against P&Y rules.

We cut sticks to fit and keep them there for about a year!

There are 3 ways to make it bigger:

1 Lie
2 Edit pictures.
3 Glue on extra tines!!
