Default can a deer survive with a broken off carbon arrow in it?

does the carbon eventually kill the deer while embedded in the animal on an otherwise non-lethal shot?

I have read that post before! While it is very interesting how much a deer can survive, I think Portable was asking a different question. The way I read it, he was asking if the carbon itself would poison the deer if it stayed inside the deer.

PL, is that what you were asking?

scar955, yes that is exactly what i was asking, with the posts i' ve seen, it seems to be the aluminum shafts that the deer have survived with, i have not seen one with a carbon, will the carbon material itself kill the deer over a period of time?

Carbon fiber itself is harmless. There is really no chance of poisoning from the carbon at all. Hell, we and deer are carbon based lifeforms already [&:]

This doesn' t go to the original question but a lot of folks (myself included) think that picture of a skeleton with an arrow in it is a fake. I' m pretty sure it' s not even a deer skeleton, and our resident vet thought it looked fake also.
