Hey guys,
My brother got a fawn yesterday. When we gutted it we noticed the lungs were pink but they had blackish spots (about the size of pencil erasers) all over them. Neither of us ever remember ever seeing this before. He' s going to call the dec and see what they have on it. Just wondering if any of you know if it is normal.

Thanks for any info.

Your shooting fawns and worrying about them having a disease. It doesn' t make any sense. imo

Let me understand your logic 3 step, if the deer is young and you fill one of your doe tags for meat, you dont have to worry if it is diseased? Is this because diseases are nonexistent in young deer? Or Are you implieing that some how my brother was sinnful in shooting it, and is being punished for his unethical behavior?

I guess you have no insite on this 3 step, other then no one should shoot a deer under.....what age would be acceptable???

I got a 8 pointer on 0ct24 during archery season. My bro hasn' t got anything in a couple of years and really wanted some meat for the freezer. So if it was brown as the saying goes, he saw that deer thought it was a young doe and made a good shot. We processed it already. still going to contact the dec though.
