Mine is definitely picking stuff up, sightwise. I' m extremely hard of hearing (technically deaf without hearing aides), so I have learned to rely on sight much more. I hunt with my bro-in-law mostly, and he has awesome hearing, so between the two of us, we make a good team. He' ll hear ' em, and I' ll see ' em.

I would say it the " feeling." Right before you chance into greatness there is a split second where you can get a glimpse of what is going to happen five minutes from the present. You have to catch the feeling and mentally struggle with it to get the upper hand. Once you understand how to harvest the information from your premonition you go into action. Keep a clear mind while hunting. Focus on being there, in the moment. Concentrate on avoiding work issues, family issues, and the like. Everything happens for a reason! You being in your #2 stand instead of old faithful has an effect on the world. Where as if you went to old faithful things will come out totally different. Listen to your soul, the deep down part that wants to hunt! Ask yourself, " What do I do next?" Say a prayer before going and let the good Lord flood you with insight. Reap the benefits my friends!

That was extremely deep and insightful. I think I have new found inspiration after not seeing a deer for my last 8 sits. wow!! so there is a reason I choose #2 stand? cool.

Flexibility. I' m not tied to one style of hunting. If the deer won' t come to my stand, I can go get ' em. You ain' t never really hunted until you' ve stalked in on a group of deer and gotten close enough for a shot on your pick of the herd.

I guess I would have to say selecting stand locations. Even before I knew about rublines and buck trails being separate from doe trails, funnels, bedding areas and food plots, etc. I seemed to have an instinctive (or maybe more accurately- lucky) knack at picking trees that bucks would walk by. The only problem is, now all my hunting buddies and family members want to use my stands. :(:D
