RE: what' s your best attribute??
Being able to make the pressure shot. I have had five chances at trophy bucks, put five on the wall. Ofcourse, now I will be pathetically jinxed for all eternity.

RE: what' s your best attribute??
I have to say mine is being able to pick deer out. They just seem to jump out at me no matter how far away. It drives my wife crazy. We could be driving down the road and I could be playing with the radio and I' ll hit the brakes. She yells and asks what the hell I' m doin' . That' s when I say " well can' t you see that 8 point half way accross the field" . I just seem to see them out of the corner of my eye even when I am not looking for them. I guess you could call it instinct. It' s almost as if I know that they are there before I see them. It works the same way for me in the woods.

RE: what' s your best attribute??
as a younger hunter, I had no patience whatsoever to stay put on a stand for any length of time ...... over the years I' ve learned to put in the hours and good things will come my way eventually ........ sure, some years the luck arrives at the start, but other seasons require a lot of patient waiting for that moment to arrive ....

RE: what' s your best attribute??
I am really going to need to try to get through at least one month without having to look at David and his charmin.....;)
I guess my best attribute is picking well concealed and productive stand locations. It always seems that my buddies want to sit in the areas that I normally frequent when I am not there....:) |
RE: what' s your best attribute??
Picking out deer. Similar to what bearklr stated.

RE: what' s your best attribute??
this may sound funny but mine is smell. I can smell deer coming if the wind is right.
another one would be cool under pressure. I may not be able to target shoot as well as the next guy but when the moment of truth is upon me I tend to always come thru.....now, like another person stated, I will probably miss the next 20 deer to make up for that statement. |
RE: what' s your best attribute??
Patience. I could sit in my stand from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. without seeing as much as a fly move. Doesn' t bother me at all. I don' t get bored. I just keep telling myself that any minute the big one is going to walk by. Usually doesn' t happen.

RE: what' s your best attribute??
experience, after 35 years of hunting, I' ve made most of the mistakes you can make.

RE: what' s your best attribute??
My buddy says i can be unbelievable calm when it comes to the moment of making the shot.
My heart go' s running after.;) |
RE: what' s your best attribute??
For me it is being able to stalk very quietly and smell deer. Ants in the pants does not adequately describe me trying to post. I don' t think I can sit still for more than 5 minutes, unless I fall asleep which I do if I sit. If I post I never see deer. If I stalk I jump deer all the time. Now killing the deer after I get to them is another matter :)
