Anybody else plan on hunting the Illinois gun opener this next weekend? Weather Channel has 63 and sunny on Friday followed by 49 and rain or snow on Saturday. Could be a rough weekend. That big cold front could get them moving Friday night though. Might not be that bad afterall.....

Yup, they were chasin all day long today. Watched a giant breed a doe in the middle of a cornfield. Oh yeah, And I also killed a 9 point that was chasing does at NOON today[8D]

The rut is definitely on! We have seen some unfamiliar bucks the last couple of days on our farms. I assume that means they are traveling in search of the does into foreign territory.

Saw a big buck fighting off other big bucks, 3 at a time, all day yesterday to keep his doe.

Saw some other bucks chasing does to no avail.
The Rut is heavy and should be through the weekend.

I' d say the weather has been perfect this week with the cool moist conditions and foggy mornings. Lets hope the weather holds out! Of course, snow would be alright by me, just no more 70 degree days.

It is suppose to be 60 here firday for the high, i hope not. Also, 30% chance of rain which is not much. Like they said above, the rut is on, i am going no matter if its pouring or not.
