Default New String!

My son got a used bow. What's the best way to tell if it needs a new string. We are taking it to an Archery Tech on Sunday but I was just wondering. Thanks!

No help! Back in the day, I would have been given every tip in the book on how to tell when to replace that string!

I'm having Cabela's put a new string and cable on it! I'm just stoked that me and my son are going to start shooting together!
