#1
Have any of you West Virginians seen any heavy chasing??? I' ve you read my last post, i mentioned i' ve found lots of good scrapes but no rubs. No one I' ve talked to has reported any hard rutting activity yet. Do you guys think the best is over or yet to come???

I have seen a few rubs and scrapes but no chasing. I am still seeing the fawns with the does. I hope the best is yet to come. Maybe this cold front that is coming will kick things up a notch.

Same here a few scrapes here and there but no chasing or even cruizing at all. Me and about 6 buddys are hunting everyday and have yet to see a buck chase a doe. I am certain that the rut in WV has not hit the peak yet. I am guessing by the way things are going that next week we should start to see some action with the peak hitting around the 21st or 22nd.

i have seen several deer chasing. saw a nice 8 chasing a doe as i was taking down a stand. and saw a 4 pt chasing a doe just yesterday.
lots of scrapes and rubs....i think the rut will be dwindling down in the next week or two.

Tuesday morning on the farm I saw a small 6 point checking does, it was funny.
He just stood on top of a hill and everytime a new group of does came out into the field he would run to them and does would scatter everywhere. Then he would come back to the top of the hill and wait for another group of does to come out. This went on from daylight until about 10:30am and I got to watch it all from my kitchen window.
Heading to Wyoming county this evening for a week of hunting, I cannot wait to get there!!!
Have a great day and good luck to everyone.

I hunt in ohio county, we have a very good buck to doe ratio on the property i hunt. Its been weird this year, ive seen 2 bucks crusing, no chasing, most of the bucks arent even crusing yet. Fawns are still with does.
