Default friend lost a buck

while i was working last night my friend called me and told me that our friend shot a 9 pointer. when i got off work i met up with them coon hunting. he said that he shot it in the shoulder blade, so he left it go for the night and we were going out to find it the next morning. so we went out to look for the deer this morning and found some more blood but no deer. my friend thinks hopes that it is going to live. i was just wondering if he shot the shoulder at 15 yrds wouldnt that shatter the bone? thats just what i thought. we might go again this afternoon, and hopefully we find it.
