Steep price to pay but congratulations on your deer!! The two most , NO three most important things are to remember your head is to hard to actually hurt[:-]. Love ya!! Nancy made it to Germany and so far is doing A-OK.....and last but not least you have meat in the freezer. :)

An 86 year old beating the crab out of someone! Only if that someone was 88. The 47 stitches was the dead give away, thats a lot of stitches dude. If they had to sew your whole head back on, it would' ve probably took less than that.

dkbs obviously you have quite a bit to learn about old men, there are some old men out there that could whip your rear end and mine at the same time with one hand tied behind there back! I had a house burn to the ground in 82, the only thing we were able to save was a 74 chevy malibu wagon, it was parked right up next to the house and a black gentleman named Avon Carter who was well into his 70' s and my self who was 28 at the time lifted the rear end of that car off the ground and drug it 50 foot to where it wouldn' t burn up along with the house. The reason we had to pick it up and drag it was the keys were in the house burning and the car had an automatic locking transmission! Not only did he lift his side of the car, but he lifted the side that had the gas tank which I am sure added a lot of weight to it. You are right that most men in their 80' s would not stand a chance against a young buck, but there are some old men out there that are more than capable of kicking a young mans a$$!!!!

commndr there are quite a few of us that have met cardeer in person and we have seen some of the deer he has killed in the past. There are some folks on here that have also hunted with him. Oh did I mention they were suceesful hunts and cardeer was one of the successfull ones. BTW cardeer is not much different in person than he is on the board.

Some folks who have never met him or hunted with him sure do like to talk out of their rearends about someone they really know nothing about!

But Taz, with all due respect, the stories are a bit ridiculous and there are gullable newbies out there that might swallow his fishies whole and go into the woods packing heat in the event an 88 year old black belt deer stealing maniac is on the loose on their back 40 just waiting to snatch their once in a lifetime trophy buck.

Cardeer congrats on the harvest. 47 stitches is a lot to be put in your head I hope you heal up fast.Take some pics of your head and send them to the xbow compamy and tell them to send you a new one.Its good to hear that your wife is doing well take care of yourself and good luck with the rest of the season.

No the last time I saw him was at the get together this year and he had not amputated the toe at that point. I know he has been making a necklace out og his teeth that have been falling out due to a degenerative bone disease he has, and no he didn' t get them pulled by a dentist, they simply come out.

I have many times. Went on a hunting trip to SC for a week with him and midman (his son). He is a little excentric but I guarentee this, you will never meet a more geniune' sincere' and careing person in the world. His stories have a touch to them but if I were in battle there would be no one I would want to back me up than him. Off the top I can think of proablly 20 or more people here that have met him in person and all come away with the same fellings. He is a liveing legend and a devoted Christan.

I finally made it back. Sorry you dont believe me. Yes I am little crazy. And for all you doubting souls you have a invite to come and visit my place and I have people that have been here from the board. The over 100 antlers that score a average of 140 would make your dinks look sick.I will tell you another true story.I' m a hunter that put in 5 weeks everday all day this year. I cant help if you poor people have to work and I dont.You better work though my wife and I need are disability checks.,Her trip to Germany was not cheap and my new Honda Element is going to be getting 1500.00 wheels and tires next week. And my 68 SS chevelle really eats up the gas with that 502 engine. Yes people seen that also and even rode in it. I got 22,000 in bank that I will put up if What I said aint true. Alright, first of all, why are there so many jerks on this forum? Yall say you enjoy cardeers stories, so why in the heck are you trying to talk bad about him or whatever. I dont know Cardeer or anyone on this forum personally, but even if his story isnt true, you got your laugh out of it, how is it fair that you try to call him a liar and bring him down, he is the one that put a smile on your face only minutes before? As far as the toe on a string thing goes.....err...im just not gonna go there:D But some of yall need to learn how to sit on your hands or bite your tongue. ALL of the people that are in disbeleif are the ones who have not met him, nor do they know anything about him. Is it fair to judge someone like that? Maybe a few pictures of his deer will surface after he shoots a doe and holds a pair of sheds on its head. This guy claims to kill huge deer every year. Now i have a question, if 20 or so of you hunted with this guy have any of you once seen him kill any of these HUGE bucks? You guys need to get real. Yes i believe he is probably a great guy but it is sickening to read your slobbering congrats to someone who never backs his BS.

It is funny to me that people who havn' t been around here for that long, come on here and start calling others liars just because they are different, hunt differently, or get different success!

Cardeer, as I have always said, you are the man!!!!!!!!! Keep the stories comming as I can' t get enough of them. You have always been able to brighten my day up. I just think that no matter how bad my season is going, atleast I don' t have your luck :D

I am sorry to hear that you are giving up on hunting! It is tough to see a deer in pain. The fawn I put down a few years back was terrible. Seeing that deer not able to walk due to injuries and hearing that screaming.............. it sent chills to my bones!!!

Don' t worry about what some of these guys say man. If only they have seen the pics of your antlers and mounts!!! But then again, they would probablly say that you bought them all. Too bad that it would take a millionare to buy that many big racks. You don' t have to proove anything to these guys

Mossy_Oak_Bounty_Hunter & BM well said, thanks for standing up for CD, I will admit that to a person who does not know cardeer personally some of his stories sound really out there, but if someone were to see the deer he has killed over the years in person they would understand how he could say it was just your average 13 point! The man has killed 8 pointers that make the vast majority of 13 pointers look punk! It is a shame that some folks who have no idea of the truth about someone will find joy in bashing them, I wish I had the money for them to all go and check out the deer that cardeer has killed over the years, let them laugh and poke fun all they want, I and quite a few others know the truth.

I' ll always stick up for Cardeer, he is the man. It is very rare to find a guy as nice and genuine as he is. I wish that I could see his antler collection in person, but, from all the pics I have seen, I might just get too jealous [:o]:D

Also, as far as a average 13 point goes, it is ridiculous for people to get their panties in such a bunch because of this. Last time I checked, the amount of points a deer has doesn' t tell you how big the antlers are. I have seen some HUGE 6 points around here and I have seen some SMALL 10 points. The number of points has nothing to do with the size of the antlers, what matters is spread, mass, POINT LENGTH, and how symetrical the antlers are. Last time I checked, P&Y or B&C don' t add the number of points into the antlers score!

What I don' t understand is how people can slam on Cardeer and belittle him. What sense does that make?

I have not met him in person, but have emailed him a few times. I view him with the utmost respect and admiration for his hunting ability. He' s been there, done that, many times over, and knows what he' s talking about.

When I started out hunting, I didn' t know sh** (I still don' t know everything), but I asked for help and suggestions from Cardeer. He made me one of the famous " Cardeer Necklaces" . I will treasure it always and I wear it on every hunt. Cardeer didn' t have to do that, you know... He could have blown me off and not bothered to help a " newbie" . But he did, and did it out of kindness to lend a hand getting me started on deer hunting.

The people who slam, belittle, or don' t believe don' t have to make sense, because in order to make sense you have to have some sense yourself. They are probably the same hunters who, if they don' t harvest anything claim they had a bad day and go
home mumbling to themselves about the terrible time they had freezing and not seeing anything. When in reality all was there to see but they were blind to the fact. They' re the ones who claim their deer taste gamey after gut shooting it, trying to field dress it and cut the stomach and bladder. Thats if they find it. Or taking a shot and after not seeing the deer drop figure it was a miss. They all know who they are, we don' t have to post their screen names for they can' t be embarresed. Because in order to do that they would have to have some kind of compassion, feelings or a brain wave to comprehend the term or supposed feeling of embassassment. when i signed on to this web site, i was told to enjoy it and have fun, i feel i have made some great friends, Jersey hunter helped me find my deer, Tazman was in there also. we are to read and enjoy the stories, it is up to the individual to take the stories fact of fiction. I don' t really need anyone helping me make a decision on what i read. like they say " there are a%&holes in every organization, and we just found ours." {
i don' t know cardeer personally but he is a hell of a story teller fact or fiction. i say he should write a book,
