Default lost buck found

Last year I shot a 160 class 10 pointer and was never able to find it. Tonight i was talking with the guy who bowhunts the land right next to where i shot the buck. Last year he found a 160 class 10 pointer and my arrow on his property. Is it reasonable to ask if i could have the rack?

It' s not your deer. You did not finish the job.

One of the most important things I learned later in life, kshunter, is that all they can do is say no. (Wished I' d learned this lesson earlier when I was dreaming about all those gorgeous college chicks all the time )

You could ask, but I wouldn' t try to pass it off as a deer you harvested, for all we know it took the animal a month to die of infection, I wouldn' t consider that a kill.

I would ask as well. As someone said, it cannot hurt. I would not expect to get the rack from the guy but some people are nice enough about those types of issues.

Offer to buy it off of him if he' s reluctant. (That is if you want the rack that bad.)
