lost buck found
Last year I shot a 160 class 10 pointer and was never able to find it. Tonight i was talking with the guy who bowhunts the land right next to where i shot the buck. Last year he found a 160 class 10 pointer and my arrow on his property. Is it reasonable to ask if i could have the rack?

I' d ask him for it.

RE: lost buck found
No,
It' s not your deer. You did not finish the job. Besides, if he woulda thought it was OK, he would' ve offered it to you. Just my opinion..... |
RE: lost buck found
One of the most important things I learned later in life, kshunter, is that all they can do is say no. (Wished I' d learned this lesson earlier when I was dreaming about all those gorgeous college chicks all the time ;))

RE: lost buck found
I' d ask him...couldn' t hurt.....I wish I' d have done that...both in high school and college

RE: lost buck found
You could ask, but I wouldn' t try to pass it off as a deer you harvested, for all we know it took the animal a month to die of infection, I wouldn' t consider that a kill.

RE: lost buck found
Hey ksdoe- didnt you say there was meat still on the arrow, didnt you also say that he found it shortly after the day you made the shot???ask him, like everyone lse has said except that one guy who obviously is scared of rejection, the worst he can say is no....you know who I am and I hardly ever get denied, if you know what i mean

RE: lost buck found
I would ask as well. As someone said, it cannot hurt. I would not expect to get the rack from the guy but some people are nice enough about those types of issues.

RE: lost buck found
All he can say is no. I' d ask.

RE: lost buck found
Offer to buy it off of him if he' s reluctant. (That is if you want the rack that bad.)
