i didn' t have a class today until 2:00, so i decided like always to go hunting. i was in a new spot and didn' t have much luck. so i decided to climb down about ten o' clock. i thought i might walk around and see if i could find any acorn trees that were dropping. on my way to a large tree, i decided to glass about 100 yards away. low and behold there was a deer there, a nice buck underneath it munchin' away. he ended up being a decent 8. i new i had the wind in my favor, and i wanted to give my new ASAT 3-d suit a try. i started to stalk my way up to him. when i got 45 yards away i accidently stepped on a stick. i froze and i thought he had me pinned. he looked at me hard then completely dismiss me at 45 yards!!! on the ground!! he looked right through me! well, i wasn' t to comfortable with a long shot like that, so i tried to stalk my way to within 30 yards. i took my time and i ranged him at 33 yards. your not going to believe this, all of a sudden he bolts out of there like a hornet just bit him on the butt. coming around the corner is a dude on a 4-wheeler!! what the crap is he doin here. he was supposed to be hunting the land next to us, and somehow wondered onto our property!!!! something always has to happen!!!

I would have shot him instead!!!!!!!!!! just kiddin, but he would have had a earful and I would have called the gamewarden and busted his arse. You know people have just plain gotten so lazy that they have to take a ATV all the way to their stands. I own one and it is a excellent tool to carry gear and deer out of the woods and the winch really helps when cleaning a deer. But I won' t get 1/4 mile from my stand with it! Deer know them and when they here one they spook period.

Also I find it hard to believe he wondered over on your property. That 4 wheeler can' t climb fences. I bet if you he knew exactly what he was doing......trespassing. I would pay him a visit. If you don' t he will be back and with friends!!! I can guarantee that.....have dealt with alot of them. Stop it now, If they know you mean business then they will most likely leave. I would be really be POed if this was me after getting that close to a nice buck, actually livid would better describe it!

i was madder than a hornet, i cringe now that i think of what i said to him. don' t think i could have whooped him though. but next time i think i' ll give it my all. the game warden is a friend of my fam. i' ll tell him what happened.

If you know who the guy is I would go ahead and call your game warden friend and see if he will pay the guy a visit. If the guy is trespassing, there no telling what other game laws he has broken. Hell he probably does' nt even have license. Call your friend and give him the details, I bet he will pay him a visit and it leaves you out of it!

I was thinkin' the same thing. If he and the four-wheeler had ASAT on, maybe he could have ran over the deer for you and saved your arrow.
Bummer that you didn' t get the shot after all that work, but now you know one thing, ASAT works!!!
