Any Alabama hunters having a hard a time finding many acorns this year. If not what have you found. Both water oaks and white oaks on our land seem to be either holding on longer or have smaller crop this season.

Where are you in Alabama DD. i hunt arounf Auburn. War Damn Eagle!! the acorn crop has been kinda scarce this year. the white oaks haven' t been dropping that well, but i have found a few trees. and when i do i usually see alot of deer feeding. but the water oaks are dropping pretty well considering. its hard to hunt now without the acorns, but sometimes you got to tuff it out. to bad the water oaks don' t taste as good as the white oaks. i would be murdering some deer then!

Hey AUBIE, Bama fan here. I hunt in Greene Co. White oak acorns are few & far between . Water oaks are good for us. You might want to find some high ground & look for red or pin oaks. Red oaks have been easier to find this year & the deer are killing them.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I am just going to have to do more stomping around. I hunt in Crenshaw and Autauga County and my usual honey holes consisting of white oaks have not looked good at all. Found a few swamp oaks though. maybe they will drop.

good luck
