Weather....

The past couple days out have been awesome. The rut was starting to come in good as huge scrapes were becoming evident all over the property. And while hunting from a barn, and large buck emerged and chased a doe into the woods 3 days ago....now the damn weather is 70+ degree' s, and will be that way until Friday. Damn weather. [:' (]

I was getting ready to start a thread on it too.
I started my " rut hunt" vacation a week ago. I put up with the 3" of rain we had on Monday . . . and the 2" we got on Wednesday because I got out Tuesday and killed a nice big doe. Then the %#$@*# HEAT arrived and it' s getting hotter every day. It' s supposed to be record setting next week with 80' s forecast for the first few days followed by slightly less hot temps because of the 3 days of rain they' re calling for just before the full moon hits! [:@]
In the past few days, my sightings have gone to virtually nil--I just came back from an area which has ALWAYS provided me with multiple deer sightings and all I saw was one small doe just before shooting light ended The scrapes have gone dry and unattended. I know that it will eventually improve, but my leave might be over by then![:' (]
By the way--it was 81 here today with 75% humidity and it' s supposed to get worse!

I feel your pain. I had everything set up. I have 4 weeks of vacation starting, 6 stands hung with hours and hours of scouting time in. The hunters moon hit a lot earlier this year than last year so everything is looking perfect except for the fact that I will be wearing camo shorts on my way to my stand. This is crazy. This is the first time that I have ever hunted in November with temps reaching close 80 degrees. I sure am praying for a cold front to move in!!!!!
