Hey Flipout,
You said that they were marked with reflective tape? is it sticky tape on one side. if so It may be worth collecting some and bringing it to the police station(if you filed a report) There is a good chance that they have left finger prints on the sticky portion of the tape. If it was punk kids in the aera there may be a chance that the kids may have a record and prints on file at the local police station. It may be worth a bit of your time to investigate.
Sorry to hear though. Did you read my post on preventing stand theft thread. time to get a dremal tool and some blades. I' d bet you can stop future thefts with the method I' d mentioned.

Well I havent had a stand stolen.. well not yet knock on wood. BUt I have had two bows stolen..one just last Thursday night (see my post about anyone selling a bow). It sucks..that feeling you get when you find out something you worked hard for and invested time into is gone.

Adam as far as the cops.. I could tell where they jimmied the door at( I use to do repos) and did not touch the inside rear handle at all and they would not print. Maybe they will do it for you guys!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune guys.

My brother and I have not had any stolen on our land for the past 5 years. Thankfully. But we have only to fixed stands up, Loc-on. We use climbing stands most of the time. Even on our Food plots and feeders. The problems that we have is that other people hunt our food plots, if we put a stand up there. So, we just hunt out of climbing stands and usually we don' t leave them in the woods unless my brother is there and hunting every day in one of them.

We did have a camtraker stolen last year, though. It was set up on a property line and we assume someone was trespassing and didn' t want to get caught. I wish he' d have taken the film and left the camera. We haven' t put up another one since.

this is yet another reason to use a climber, even though you are limited to the tree you can put them in with a climber you always know where it is!

My buddy had the same stand stolen two years in a row. He recovered it both times. The first time a guy had cut the tree down above the stand with a chain saw. A few days later he saw a guy on the side of the road putting a stand in his truck that looked identical to his stand. He stopped and asked the guy about it - the guy said he bought it years ago. My buddy reached into the back of his truck and turned it over and it still had his name and address on it. My buddy is a big guy you want to mess with. Needless to say, the dude' s truck was no longer new as my friend kicked all the panels in around the bed. The next year he caught the guy' s trying to steal his stand. They also got their asses kicked.
