DOES IT HURT ANYTHING TO SET YOUR BOW PASSED THE PEAK WEIGHT?

Im told that when you tighten you limbs down all the way that you often will go 2-3 lbs over your peak draw weight. Will this hurt anything. Am I risking a smack in the face with a limb? Thanks everyone

I hunt a High Country Excalibur at the moment. My limbs are down to the max giving me a draw of right at 80lbs. I have been shooting and hunting with this bow for about 5 years now with no bad experiences.
I shoot a Easton 2314 XX75 with a 125grain T-head

There is nothing wrong with going with peak weight. Just make sure you don' t overtighten the bolts and damage them or the limbs. If there is any question it' s best to have a pro-shop do it.

Actually the peak weight is when you tighten the limb bolts down....most bows come in a few pounds over....if you tighten them down, I still like to back them off a quarter to a half turn.....
I' ve also already uped the poundage by twising the cables or cables and strings on a single cam to gain a few pounds....NO, you will not harm or your bow.......
Plus, I' ve also taken 40 lb Hoyt limbs, put them in a different model riser and had a 70 lb bow.....
You won' t harm you bow or limbs tweaking and gaining a few pounds....
