Well, I posted this in my thread Trying to Shoot first Buck, but I thought it would probably end up being a big topic. So, I' m making a thread for it. I' ll just paste in my questions from there.
I spent most of today tracking a coyote that had jacked the stake on one of my traps. While I was out in the woods looking for it, I found a nice rub (the biggest one I' ve ever seen). At the time I didn' t think much of it, but this evening I remembered it. It was about 4 feet up a 10-12 inch red pine. It was about 8-10 inches tall by about 6 inches wide. It was really fresh, because there was still sap dripping down it. Is this big? This was on national forest, so I can hunt it if I want. Is it worth hunting? If so, how could I use the stuff I have to help me (A Primos Hardwood grunt and Lil' Can, Trail' s End #307, Ultimate Scrape Dripper, and Active Scrape)?
Another question,
Rubs are usually found with several in an area, right? Or is there sometimes just one? Should I look for more? How should I hunt it?
Thanks!
