I used a carry-lite decoy for a while. If you want you can take part of a white plastic bag and stick under the deer tail to make it " flick" when theres a slight wind. The kind of bag you get at a grocerie store.Anyway IMHO the deer that came in were alert to the decoy and not at ease. They seemed way more jumpy.I' ve had luck with my decoy on a few deer.I remember a doe and a fawn coming in and checking out the decoy front to back than leaving.Than when they were 60 yards away I used my grunt call to call them back.Again they checked it out and left than I blew through my fingers trying to simulate a deer " blowing" they came back again to check it out didn' t get any venison but it was fun to watch.I have also had a wolf army crawl at it thinking it was real! The only thing about the carry lite is that it' s a pain in the azz to get all the parts into the body.

The Mojo deer decoy has to be my favorite. I wish I could afford one though. They are around $400 I think.

I' ve just used a regular old McKenzie 3D target.

Feather flex decoy is the best. it weighs next to nothing and is very quiet. It also rolls up so it is very compact.

I can' t remember the name of the show, but I was watching it on the Outdoor Channel a couple of weeks ago and the hunter was using a " new" , haired, remote controlled deer decoy. The ears, tail and head moved. The funny thing was that EVERY single deer that saw it, blew and ran off, well out of bow range. It showed two different hunts using the decoy and then the last hunt without the decoy he connected with a nice buck. Seemed to me that this show was a horrible representation of the decoy.

Check with your local game wardens. They have some great ones. Of course they are not trying to attract other deer. They seem to work really good at attracting stupid hunters. Every year they place them out in the dark off the edge of the highway. Seems like there is always a few losers that drive by and shoot at them out the pickup windows[:@] " Hey how come he ain' t falling down?" []Idiots! I wonder what brand is the prefered choice for catching outlaws?

If you are interested in a silhouette decoy check these out. www.renzosdecoys.com . For the price that they want for these you could probably afford two of them.
