I usually get down when I cant see my pins. Tonight I decided to get down exactly 8minutes prior. atr the bottom of my stand I looked up to notice a nice big white flag! GRR thats the third occasion I have spooked deer in less than a dozen hunts!

When I hold my bow at arm' s length and can' t see my sight pins, it' s time to get down. Right now, with the heavy canopy and thick areas I hunt, that' s about 15-20 minutes after sunset, or 10--15 minutes before the end of legal hours.
